Article 50 applies now. Check what your customers actually see.

Since 2 August 2026, people must be told when they talk to an AI system and when they see realistic AI-generated content. We help you check it and document it — with a date, a method, and evidence.

What we check

The checks follow the paragraphs of Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, the Commission Guidelines and the Code of Practice.

Full method and observation limits

50(1) Whether a chat, voice assistant or agent says it is an AI system — at the latest at the first interaction.
50(2) Whether AI images and video carry machine-readable marking (IPTC DigitalSourceType, Content Credentials) that survived publication.
50(3) Whether emotion-recognition or biometric-categorisation tools run on the site and people are told.
50(4) Whether realistic AI content (deepfakes) and AI text on matters of public interest is visibly labelled, or carries real editorial control with a contact.
50(5) Whether the disclosure is clear, accessible to screen readers and shown at the content — not only in a footer or privacy policy.

Why pragma.vision

Your site, as a customer sees it

We render pages, open the chat and read its first message, and check image metadata after publication — where gaps usually appear.

Every finding carries evidence

URL, snippet and SHA-256 digest with each finding. The method is public and versioned.

A record anyone can verify

In the Monitor, the observation record is hybrid-signed (Ed25519 + ML-DSA-65) by our company’s isolated trust authority. Anyone can verify the signature with the published public key — no need to ask us.

Questions

Does Article 50 apply to a small business?

If customers talk to your AI chat or assistant, or you publish realistic AI-generated images, video or audio — probably yes. Company size changes the fine ceiling (SMEs: the lower amount), not the duty itself.

Is a line in the privacy policy enough?

No. The disclosure must be clear and given at the latest at the first interaction or exposure. A notice tucked into a footer or policy does not do that job.

Is the Code of Practice a safe harbour?

No. The Code on marking and labelling AI content is voluntary and useful, but following it does not by itself establish compliance.

Will I get a compliance certificate?

No — there is no official Article 50 certificate or issuing body. The Monitor provides a dated, signed record of what was observed, which you can use to show the steps you took.

Can the scan harm my site?

The scanner identifies itself as PragmaVisionArt50, honours robots.txt, visits only a few pages, never fills forms and never signs in.
