What the current evidence supports

Human editorial judgment · 2026-10-21

Track; not yet

Why
GPT-Live-1.1 is a real, vendor-confirmed consumer release (2026-10-15) building on GPT-Live-1, which has been API-GA since 2026-09-10 at $0.05 per minute. The 1.1 API is only promised and the Quip variant is reported by press but not by the fetched primary sources. Early user reports show voice-selection and language-recognition regressions, and developers report delegation gaps, no clear interruption-handling gain and occasional stalls on gpt-live-1. Evidence supports tracking it, but it does not yet support building production dependencies on 1.1.
Next
Re-check the OpenAI API changelog for a gpt-live-1.1 and Quip release with pricing, then re-evaluate. Meanwhile prototype against gpt-live-1, which is already GA, and compare it with gpt-realtime-2.1.
